Bad Dreams Better Than Good Dreams.

For once, having nightmares is a good thing.

I loved a guy. We would see each other anywhere from once every few months to three consecutive weekends. I was so in love with him. He was so in love with...my vagina. He once asked me to marry him, but changed his mind. He was all I could think about. Hope about. Dream about.

Literally. I dreamed about him all the time. Lovely dreams. Lovelier than reality. I wanted him. Needed him. Loved him.

Finally I realized. Finally I have had enough. I have been letting go.

And the last two nights? I have had bad dreams about him. I feel relief. I feel better.

First Post

I want to be a great food blogger like Kristan or Bakerella The problem is, I have major ADD. Also, I live alone, which doesn't lead to fabulous cooking on a very regular basis. I'm not the biggest fan of leftovers, so I eat cereal for dinner a lot. Not okay, I know, but on a teacher's salary, Great Value brand cereal it is!

So I decided to give up my dream of having a food blog and just have a blog. With food on it. Among other things. Why am I starting now? Because I made dinner for once. And it was beautiful. And yummy. And colorful. And I bought myself a new camera for my birthday. And I REALLY want my picture on FoodGawker.

So here goes.

WARNING: I DO NOT USE MEASUREMENTS. I THROW STUFF IN A BOWL AND CALL IT GOOD.

My original plan was a little different. I thought I had a can of beans in my cupboard. I didn't. So I improvised. I chopped up red and green peppers and avocado and threw them into a bowl. I cooked red quinoa on the stove. I can tell you it was 1/4 cup of quinoa and 1/2 cup water. I let it do its thing. I cut up Perdue Chicken Short Cuts because I was lazy, and put them in the bowl. I added the quinoa when it was done. Then I squeezed 1/3 of a lime over it and did a couple shakes of salt from my ninja-shaped salt shaker. Then I mixed it with a fork and ate it.

It was delicious. I planned on having it for 2 meals (says the girl who doesn't like leftovers), but I ate it all!

Alright, wish me luck in the blogging world!
